VISITORS

If you are between 10 and 17 years old, and are interested in adventure, why not join us? Cadets receive training aboard Navy and Coast Guard bases, ships and schools and wear Navy uniforms marked with Sea Cadet Corps insignia. Click on the "Tour" and "FAQ" buttons to see videos and learn more about what cadets learn and do. Then click on "News" to learn about current and past events and "Ship’s Log" to read reports from cadets about their activities.

We invite you to be our guest at one of our drills to get a taste of the Sea Cadets. Our drills are held at CBC Port Hueneme on two Saturdays of every month, from 0730 until 1700 (5 pm). One of your parents will need to talk to the officers when you arrive. Click on the "Contact Us" button to request more information about the Sea Cadets program, directions to our drill site, or the drill schedule. YOU MUST CONTACT US NO LATER THAN THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE DRILL YOU WISH TO ATTEND so we can arrange clearance for you with base security.

MISSION

Our mission is to instill character in each cadet with teamwork, leadership, discipline, and self reliance. In particular, teamwork is the key element to our success as a unit and as individuals. We train each and every cadet, preparing them for their future role as our nation’s leaders, civilian and military.

TRAINING

Ben Moreell Battalion and Training Ship Nicholas H. Anderson are located at the Naval Construction Battalion Center (CBC) Port Hueneme. Our spaces are the entire second floor of the old Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC) headquarters building, and include offices and classroom for training activities. CBC Port Hueneme is the west coast homeport of the Navy’s Seabees. Port Hueneme supports the training and mobilization requirements for more than 2,600 active duty personnel. The CBC also operates a 1,600-acre naval base. The unit receives classroom and hands-on-training from active duty members of the U.S. Navy, the Seabees, and US Marines, making it educational and adventurous. When not training with members of active duty service or reserve units, the unit participates in other activities and events, such as their annual flagship competition and community service, combining fun and hard work to bring out the best in each and every cadet.

SPONSORS

The Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a non-profit organization. Ben Moreell Battalion/Training Ship Nicholas H. Anderson's sponsor is the Channel Islands Chapter of the Navy League of the United States. We also try raising money on our own through raffle tickets, car washes, candy sales, and other activities to purchase supplies, uniform, equipment, and other necessary items and also to defray some of the cost of training for cadets.
